St Eunan's Cathedral

Sentry Hill

This cathedral is perhaps Letterkenny's most recogniseable landmark. Designed by Dublin architect William Hague in the Victorian neo-Gothic style, it opened on 16 June 1901. Hague died before the cathedral was completed, and is commemorated in one of the cathedral's many stained glass windows. At the time of its completion, it was the most expensive church in Ireland, having cost £300,000 (equivalent to about £50 million today). Conwal Parish Church

Sentry Hill

Conwal Parish Church is a Church of Ireland church located opposite the Cathedral of St Eunan and St Columba at the top of Church Street (at the time, near the home of the founders of Letterkenny, George and Joanna Marbury). The church was initially built in 1636, as indicated by the original date stone located in the tower, and although most of the building underwent extensive renovation, in 1766, the tower is probably the oldest built structure in Letterkenny.

Speers' Shop

Lower Main Street

Speers' is a shop at the heart of Letterkenny, on the Main Street. It's one of those shops that sells everything from a needle to an anchor, and has barely changed at all since it was first built.

Letterkenny Bus Station

At the junction of the Port Road and the Ramelton Road.

Letterkenny Bus Station is the city's public transport hub. Located by the Letterkenny Shopping Centre, it allows locals and visitors alike to easily travel to Ireland's other cities, including Derry, Galway, and Dublin.
